This design was inspired by a pillow I saw at a local furniture store. As soon as I saw it, I knew it would make an incredible cross stitch pattern. To achieve the look I wanted, a distressed look, I knew I had to use equally incredible threads, and I found them from Cottage Garden Threads. In this design, the focus is on using these gorgeous variegated threads so that the different colors shine. I have included a link to an instructional video in the text of the pattern to teach you all you need to know about using variegated threads. A DMC conversion is also included in the pattern. The fabric in the model is 40 ct Old Stationary by Seraphim Hand-dyed Fabrics. Many fine needlework shops are selling the Cottage Garden Thread thread packs.
You can see beautiful green and blue versions in the additional photos. The green version was stitched by Rachel Laskey. The blue version was stitched by @katharinastickt which is her name on Instagram. Here is the info to stitch with the blue colorway: Bonnie Brook is the darkest color, equivalent to Burgundy Bark. Sail Away is equivalent to Geranium and Blue Heaven is equivalent to Katie’s Blush.
